Five Easy Steps To Accurate Colour
• add the pressSIGN control strip to the press sheet
• read the control strip with the Eye-One and adjust the densities as recommended by pressSIGN.
• read the control strip when the sheet is dry allowing pressSIGN to compensate for the colour shift as the ink dries.
• adjust the plate curve with the data from pressSIGN
• run the next job with the new pressSIGN settings.
Print to International Standards
pressSIGN is the most effective tool for matching international
printing standards.
Select the standard you want your press to match:
• ISO 12647-2 Sheet-fed or web offset
• ISO 12647-3 Newsprint
• GRACol G7 Sheet-fed or Web (SWOP)
Select the appropriate dot gain curve for CMY and separately for
the black, then choose the type of backing on which you are
reading the press sheet. Finally, choose the default tolerances or
set your own.
Once the standard has been selected then determine what you
consider to be an acceptable pass for your press sheets. pressSIGN
allows you to export the set up so other users can work to exactly
the same settings.
With pressSIGN a few easy steps will ensure accurate colour,
matching to international printing standards.
pressSIGN control strip
There is a choice of different size control strips to suit various
printing conditions. Strips vary in size from 10mm height down
to 6mm. Because you can read individual patches with pressSIGN,
you can even reduce the patch size to 4mm.
Every strip contains CMYK solids, CMYK 25%, 50%, 75% grey
balance 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, CM, CY, MY. In one swipe find out
all the info you need for accurate colour. Use the 6mm strip to
replace your current colour bar and monitor every job.
Adjust density correctly The easy-to-read graphical interface shows how to adjust the ink
density for each primary colour. The software accurately estimates
the correct density based on the target Lab value of the standard
choosen. pressSIGN reports the aceptable density range allowing
the operator maximum flexibility. pressSIGN’s density prediction
tool makes it easy to hit the target on each colour.
pressSIGN allows you to make individual measurements anywhere
on the press sheet and incoporate these readings into the
predictions Use the ‘Colour Inspector’ for more detailed information
on each colour patch.
Read the press sheet wet and dry
pressSIGN adjusts for the colour shift that takes
place as the inks dry. Whatever ink or paper
combination used, pressSIGN compensates for the
dry-back. As the press is running it can be set up
and ajusted knowing that the final result will hit
the standard.
Read the control strip while it is still wet and pressSIGN will tell you how the press sheet will
appear when dry. You can then adjust the press
on-the-fly and know that your customers will receive
the job they want.
Plate adjustment curve
If the dot gain curve does not meet the standard
then pressSIGN provides the correct plate
adjustment curve. Export the adjustment curve
directly into the most popular platesetter and
filmsetter RIPs.
pressSIGN makes the Eye-One a complete
press measurement tool
pressSIGN allows you to make individual
measurements from the press sheet, a Pantone® formula guide or ink draw downs. Compare colours
and see the DeltaE variations, compare dot gains,
denisty and Lab values. In fact, pressSIGN provides
all the measurement needs to ensure accurate spot
and process colour printing.
Accurate colour on press pressSIGN scoring system Meeting the standard on every press sheet can be difficult. pressSIGN provides
a ‘traffic light’ scoring system making it easy to identify press sheets that
reach your standard.
Once your own scoring system is set up you can export this file and send
it to other users.
pressSIGN label
Attach the pressSIGN Pass label to the
OK sheet to show your customers that
their printed sheets pass the standard.
pressSIGN pdf report
The pressSIGN pdf report provides all
the information you need about the
colour performance of the press.
Density, Lab values, dot- gain curves,
and scoring are included in the pdf.
Keep this report in the job bag for client
inspections and for reprints.
