Compose System optimize Star Proof for G5 Macintosh to give major improvements to proofing throughput
--- Optimized version of popular ROOM proofing system creates screened contract proofs three times faster than with dual G4 processor ---
WALTON-ON-THAMES, UK -- 12th November 2003 -- With their second major upgrade in eight months, Compose System have further improved the performance of Star Proof, the company's flagship proofing solution which delivers screened contract proofs on high-end injet printers. Seven months ago in March, Star Proof print times were reduced by 50% with the introduction of the new resampling and dot generation engine
- Actual Dot 2. Now, with the new release of Star Proof optimized for the Macintosh G5 processor, proofing throughput has been improved by the reduction of 70% in the time taken to convert high resolution separations into screened proofs.
First customer shipments of Star Proof for the G5 processor are planned for December this year. List pricing remains at £4250 and upgrades for current users to the new G5 version will priced at £500.
Developed by an experienced team of colour professionals, Star Proof is a Mac OS X application for delivering contract quality screened proofs on large format inkjets and colour proofers. Star Proof uses the unique hard dot generation techniques of Actual Dot 2 to recreate actual dot patterns and rosettes of original separations - even including defects such as moire patterns. Tuned to take advantage of Epson VSDT-capable printers such as the Stylus Pro 10600, Star proof produces remarkable results with contract quality proofs up to 200lpi being output on printers running at just 1440 lpi by 720 lpi.
